# AIRLINE DELAY COMPENSATION CLAIM

Date: 18 March 2034

Parties: Priya Nair and Northstar Airways plc

## 1. Purpose and parties

I, Priya Nair of 22 Willowbank Crescent, Reading RG2 8LF, claim compensation from Northstar Airways plc for flight NS418 from Manchester to Athens on 6 January 2034. My booking reference was NA7K2P, and I travelled with my partner Daniel Reed on the same reservation.

## 2. Facts, scope and terms

The scheduled departure was 09:20 and the scheduled arrival was 13:25 local time. The aircraft left at 14:05 and reached the stand at 18:02 Athens time. After allowing for the one-hour time difference, the arrival was 17:02 UK time, or 4 hours 37 minutes after the scheduled UK-equivalent arrival; the relevant comparison is the local scheduled and actual arrival times, not take-off alone.

## 3. Process and responsibilities

Northstar's message said that a technical inspection caused the delay. I ask the airline to explain the precise event, when it arose, what reasonable measures were attempted and whether it was an extraordinary circumstance under the applicable UK261 regime. I do not assume that every technical problem removes the carrier's obligation.

## 4. Evidence, records and safeguards

The route was approximately 2,470 kilometres, so I provisionally seek £350 per passenger if the statutory conditions are met. Our claim is £700 for two passengers, not a claim for hotel or meal costs. We bought food at the airport for £28 after the airline's voucher desk had closed, and I reserve that separate evidenced expense if the airline's duty of care is engaged.

## 5. Review, escalation and outcome

Please provide the delay reason, aircraft log extracts, operational messages, records of any rerouting offer and the final arrival time recorded at the destination. I enclose the booking confirmation, boarding passes, the airline message and the £28 receipt. Please do not disclose Daniel's personal data except as needed to assess his separately authorised claim.

## 6. Reservations and practical protections

Please acknowledge this claim and pay £700, or give a reasoned refusal identifying the factual and legal basis, within 28 days. If Northstar rejects or does not resolve the claim, I may use its complaints process and then consider an appropriate alternative dispute resolution body or court route, subject to jurisdiction and limitation; I do not treat this letter as proceedings.

## 7. England and Wales law and completion

This completed fictional claim is dated 18 March 2034 and concerns a flight departing the United Kingdom. It is not a guarantee that compensation is due: entitlement may depend on the delay, distance, carrier status and an applicable extraordinary-circumstances defence. I reserve the right to update the amount if the evidence changes and ask Northstar to retain the relevant records.
