# BANK COMPLAINT LETTER

Date: 3 March 2030

Parties: Daniel Cole and Wessex Bank plc

## 1. Purpose and parties

To Wessex Bank plc, complaints team: I am Daniel Cole, holder of current account ending 4421. This is a formal complaint about an unauthorised £680 card payment to “Northstar Gadgets” dated 11 February 2030, followed by £34 of overdraft fees.

## 2. Facts, scope and terms

I noticed the transaction in mobile banking on 13 February, froze the card and reported it by telephone and secure message. I did not authorise the merchant, share my PIN or act fraudulently. The card remained in my possession; the bank's 20 February message simply said the claim was declined.

## 3. Process and responsibilities

Please investigate under the Payment Services Regulations 2017 and explain the evidence relied upon. I request reimbursement of £680, reversal of the £34 consequential fees, interest for the period out of funds and £150 for distress and inconvenience, without treating this request as an admission of liability.

## 4. Evidence, records and safeguards

Please preserve the disputed-payment log, authentication data, merchant information, call recordings and the reason for the refusal. My evidence includes the statement, card-freeze confirmation, device log and messages. Please provide an accessible explanation while protecting another person's personal data.

## 5. Review, escalation and outcome

Please issue a final response within eight weeks in accordance with FCA DISP, or sooner if the investigation is complete. If the response is unsatisfactory or absent, I will refer the complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service within its applicable deadline and provide the final-response letter.

## 6. Reservations and practical protections

The bank should not close my account or restrict essential banking because I complained. I continue to cooperate with reasonable fraud checks. This letter is a complaint, not a court claim, and it does not waive rights under the Payment Services Regulations, Consumer Duty or any account contract.

## 7. England and Wales law and completion

Service may be by secure message, post to Wessex Bank Complaints, PO Box 81, Bristol BS1 9ZZ, or email to daniel.cole@example.co.uk as alternative methods. England and Wales law applies. Yours faithfully, Daniel Cole, 3 March 2030.
