# CHARGEBACK REQUEST LETTER

Date: 2 September 2031

Parties: Marcus Lee and Riverbank Bank plc

## 1. Purpose and parties

Marcus Lee asks Riverbank Bank plc to raise a card-scheme chargeback for a £1,284.50 debit-card payment to Trailforge Equipment Ltd on 18 July 2031. The merchant promised delivery of a touring bicycle and panniers by 25 July under order TF-9182.

## 2. Facts, scope and terms

Nothing arrived. Trailforge's tracking number was invalid, its customer portal closed on 6 August and two emails sent on 7 and 12 August received automated failures. Marcus has not received a refund, replacement or credible evidence of dispatch.

## 3. Process and responsibilities

He requests a dispute under the applicable goods-not-received reason code, not a guaranteed legal refund. Riverbank should submit the claim within the scheme deadline, explain any merchant evidence and credit the amount provisionally only on terms that are clearly disclosed.

## 4. Evidence, records and safeguards

The evidence pack contains the order confirmation, merchant terms, bank statement, promised delivery screen, tracking result, correspondence and a signed statement that the goods were not received. Marcus has checked with his building concierge and neighbours and will cooperate with reasonable authentication checks.

## 5. Review, escalation and outcome

Riverbank should acknowledge the request within ten working days and give a final explanation if it declines. Marcus will complain through Riverbank's internal process, consider a Consumer Rights Act 2015 claim against Trailforge and avoid pursuing duplicate recovery if the merchant or insurer pays.

## 6. Reservations and practical protections

A chargeback decision is not an adjudication of contractual liability and a provisional credit may be reversed after representment. Marcus reserves statutory rights, but will retain the goods-not-received evidence and respond promptly to any properly particularised merchant representation.

## 7. England and Wales law and completion

This completed fictional request is dated 2 September 2031 and governed by England and Wales law. It is sent through Riverbank's secure message service with copies of evidence; full card credentials are not repeated in the letter.
