# CHILD CUSTODY AGREEMENT

Date: 27 September 2031

Parties: Oliver Bennett and Hannah Bennett

## 1. Purpose and parties

Oliver Bennett and Hannah Bennett are separated parents of Mia Bennett, born 14 May 2022. They record child arrangements by agreement, with Mia living mainly with Hannah in Cardiff and spending alternate weekends and Wednesday overnight with Oliver in Newport, subject always to Mia's welfare.

## 2. Facts, scope and terms

Oliver collects Mia from school at 15:30 on alternate Fridays and returns her by 18:00 Sunday; Wednesday contact runs from school collection to Thursday school drop-off. Christmas alternates by year, summer holidays are divided into two ten-day periods and birthdays are shared when Mia is comfortable.

## 3. Process and responsibilities

Both retain parental responsibility and consult on school, non-urgent medical treatment, religion and a move affecting schooling. Each may make day-to-day decisions during care; either parent gives 48 hours' notice of ordinary changes and immediate notice of illness, safeguarding concern or missed contact.

## 4. Evidence, records and safeguards

The agreement includes Mia's allergy action plan, GP details, school calendar, emergency contacts and a record of handovers. Neither parent criticises the other to Mia, introduces a new overnight partner for six months without discussion, or removes Mia from the UK without consent or a court order.

## 5. Review, escalation and outcome

They will review arrangements with a Cafcass-trained mediator on 15 January 2032 and after any substantial change in work, health or school. Disagreement is first discussed in writing, then mediated if safe; urgent safeguarding applications to the Family Court remain open.

## 6. Reservations and practical protections

The schedule is flexible for illness and Mia's expressed wishes as her age and understanding develop, but a parent may not withhold contact as punishment or make a unilateral permanent change. Travel expenses are met by the parent travelling unless they agree otherwise in writing.

## 7. England and Wales law and completion

This completed fictional agreement is dated 27 September 2031 and governed by England and Wales law. It is signed by Oliver and Hannah, acknowledges that a court order has different force, and keeps Mia's birth and medical records confidential.
