# EXAMPLE: EMPLOYEE CODE OF CONDUCT
Date: 15 January 2028
Parties: Lantern Field Technologies Limited and its employees
## 1. Purpose
Employees must act honestly, treat colleagues and customers with dignity and make decisions for Lantern's legitimate interests. This code supplements, and does not reduce, the employment contract or statutory rights.
## 2. Scope
A conflict, including a close relative bidding for Lantern work or a personal investment in a supplier, must be declared to the manager before a decision is made. The manager records an agreed mitigation.
## 3. Responsibilities
Gifts over £50, hospitality that could influence a tender, facilitation payments and secret commissions are forbidden. All gifts accepted or refused are entered in the Gifts Register.
## 4. Policy-specific rules
Employees must follow site safety instructions, protect passwords and confidential product plans, and use expenses only for genuine business purposes. Records must never be falsified.
## 5. Reporting
A concern may be raised with a manager, Compliance Officer or whistleblowing channel without fear of retaliation. Compliance triages it, preserves evidence and refers criminal or safeguarding concerns appropriately.
## 6. Process
Breaches are investigated under the disciplinary procedure, with notice of the allegation, a fair hearing and an appeal. Sanctions range from coaching to dismissal; the seriousness, intent and record are considered.
## 7. Review and approval
The People Director provides induction and annual training, the Compliance Officer reports quarterly themes, and the board reviews this code each January. The code is interpreted with the Equality Act 2010 and Working Time Regulations 1998.
