# CONSUMER CREDIT COMPLAINT LETTER
Date: 18 June 2031
Parties: Ben Carter and Northstar Motor Finance Limited
## 1. Purpose and parties
Ben Carter makes a formal complaint about regulated hire-purchase agreement HP-77219 for a used vehicle supplied in January 2029. Northstar's statement applied his £310 direct debit to charges before instalment arrears and recorded a default despite his bank showing the instalment as collected.
## 2. Facts, scope and terms
Ben also asks Northstar to review the affordability assessment, commission disclosure and whether the vehicle finance documentation and notices were accurate. He does not assert that every loss or vehicle defect is automatically the lender's liability; he identifies the specific conduct and asks for a reasoned response.
## 3. Process and responsibilities
Northstar should inspect the agreement, pre-contract information, call recordings, payment file, credit reporting, dealer communications and complaint history. Ben requests correction of any inaccurate balance or credit-file entry, refund of improperly taken charges or interest and a fair assessment of consequential loss.
## 4. Evidence, records and safeguards
Ben encloses the agreement, statements, bank records, dealer emails, default notice and credit report. Northstar should preserve the audit trail, pause adverse action while checking a disputed allocation where appropriate and handle personal data securely. Ben will continue undisputed payments and identify any hardship.
## 5. Review, escalation and outcome
This is a complaint under the firm's procedure and applicable FCA rules. Northstar should issue a final response within the relevant period. Ben may refer an eligible unresolved complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service within its time limit; FOS jurisdiction, redress and any section 75 Consumer Credit Act claim depend on the facts.
## 6. Reservations and practical protections
The complaint is not a request for a false credit-file deletion or an admission that the agreement is void. Ben reserves rights to challenge an unfair relationship, defective notice, misrepresentation or unlawful charge where evidence supports it, and will seek advice before withholding contractual sums.
## 7. England and Wales law and completion
England and Wales law applies. Ben signs on 18 June 2031 and sends the complaint to complaints@northstarmotor.example and by post to the lender's complaints office, each a separate permitted service method. He requests a case number and accessible communications.
