# COURT WITNESS STATEMENT (CIVIL)

Date: 12 April 2029

Parties: Leah Morgan and Westford Kitchens Limited

## 1. Court and witness

In the County Court at Bristol, Claim No. BR-2029-00184, Leah Morgan (Claimant) v Westford Kitchens Limited (Defendant). I, Leah Morgan of 18 Cotham Park, Bristol BS6 6DA, am a self-employed interior designer and give evidence from my own knowledge.

## 2. Statement of truth

I believe that the facts stated in this witness statement are true. I make it in support of my claim for the cost of replacing kitchen units supplied with substantial defects and for consequential remedial work.

## 3. Background

On 8 January 2029 I ordered a fitted kitchen from Westford for £12,480, to be installed at 18 Cotham Park by 15 February. The written quotation and my bank transfer receipt are exhibited as LM-1 and LM-2.

## 4. Chronology of facts

On 15 February the installers delivered a damaged oak worktop and cabinets with incorrect door sizes. I immediately photographed the damage, marked the delivery note “damaged and incomplete”, and emailed Westford. Those records are exhibits LM-3 and LM-4.

## 5. Evidence and disputes

Westford returned on 22 February but did not replace the units. I obtained a report from Oak & Lime Joinery dated 4 March, exhibited as LM-5, estimating £4,860 for replacement and making good. I paid that sum on 18 March and attach the invoice as LM-6.

## 6. Sources and conclusion

I understand that Westford says the damage occurred after delivery. I disagree because the photographs were taken before the units entered my property and the delivery note records the condition. I have not included opinions beyond what I personally observed; the joinery report is identified as information from its author.

## 7. Signature and filing

I sign this statement and statement of truth on 12 April 2029. The exhibits are LM-1 to LM-6. I will serve the statement on Westford and file it at court in accordance with the directions order; I understand that verifying a false statement without an honest belief may lead to contempt proceedings.
