# DIRECT DEBIT INDEMNITY CLAIM
Date: 8 June 2035
Parties: Elliot Marsh and Northstar Broadband Ltd
## 1. Purpose and parties
To Calder Bank plc, Direct Debit Indemnity Claims, 2 Crown Square, Manchester M4 1AA. I am Elliot Marsh of 3 Larch Avenue, Stockport SK3 8TN, account ending 4421. I ask the bank to treat this as a claim under the Direct Debit Guarantee for a collection taken from that account.
## 2. Facts, scope and terms
On 3 June 2035, £186.40 was collected by Northstar Broadband Ltd under reference NSB-4421-06. I cancelled my broadband service on 15 May 2035 and did not authorise this amount or receive advance notice of it. My last agreed monthly charge was £46.60, paid on 3 May 2035.
## 3. Process and responsibilities
The amount claimed is £186.40 in full. It equals four times the agreed monthly charge (£46.60 × 4 = £186.40), but I do not accept that arithmetic as creating a contractual debt: the collection was not authorised and was not the advance-notified amount.
## 4. Evidence, records and safeguards
I notified Northstar by its online account on 4 June and received case reference NB-2035-611. Its automated reply said the account was under review but has not refunded the collection. I have not asked the bank to cancel a valid collection or used this claim to avoid an independently established balance.
## 5. Review, escalation and outcome
Please credit £186.40 to the account promptly under the Guarantee and confirm the payment date. I attach the statement line, the cancellation confirmation, the May bill and Northstar's case acknowledgement. If the bank needs a signed declaration or further information, please identify it clearly rather than treating this letter as consent to a different debit.
## 6. Reservations and practical protections
This request concerns the bank's Direct Debit Guarantee process and is separate from any final dispute about the broadband contract. If Northstar later proves a properly authorised amount was due, it may need to pursue that matter with me directly; a refund under the Guarantee does not itself decide the underlying contract.
## 7. England and Wales law and completion
I sign this completed fictional claim on 8 June 2035 and ask Calder Bank to retain the evidence and give its complaints route if it refuses or delays. The names, account ending and reference are fictional, and the request does not disclose a full account number or any banking password.
