# DIVORCE FINANCIAL SETTLEMENT PROPOSAL
Date: 2 August 2029
Parties: Emily Carter and Jonah Carter
## 1. Applicant and subject
Without prejudice save as to costs: Emily Carter proposes this practical financial settlement to Jonah Carter following the divorce application issued in the Family Court at Bristol, case FC29-01462. It is a negotiation proposal, not a binding order or a full Form E disclosure.
## 2. Scope of request
The parties have two children, aged 9 and 6, who live mainly with Emily and spend alternate weekends and half holidays with Jonah under their current arrangement. Emily proposes keeping the family home at 16 Hazel Grove, Bristol BS4 3PL, subject to affordability and the mortgage lender's consent.
## 3. Facts and reasons
The indicative assets are the home valued at £410,000 with a £238,000 mortgage, Emily's pension £86,000, Jonah's pension £142,000, savings £31,500 and Jonah's business interest valued provisionally at £55,000. Each must verify values, debts, tax and any non-matrimonial or inherited assets.
## 4. Information and adjustments
Subject to full disclosure, Emily proposes transfer of Jonah's interest in the home with a pension-sharing order giving Emily 55% of Jonah's relevant pension, retention of each person's current bank savings, and equal sharing of the net business value. Jonah will pay child maintenance assessed through the statutory calculation.
## 5. Response method
The proposal assumes Emily can refinance within six months and that Jonah receives a clean break on capital and income claims after implementation, except child maintenance and pension implementation. It does not determine school fees, future variation or an undertaking the court cannot make.
## 6. Deadline and next steps
Both parties should exchange Form E, obtain mortgage and pension valuations, consider tax and benefits, and take independent family-law advice. Any agreement needs a properly drafted and approved consent order; the court must consider fairness and the children's welfare where relevant and is not bound by this proposal.
## 7. Signature and records
This offer remains open until 30 August 2029 and may be withdrawn or revised after disclosure. Jonah should respond through solicitors. Emily signs this without-prejudice proposal on 2 August 2029 and reserves costs and all claims until an order is sealed.
