# FINANCIAL ADVISER ENGAGEMENT LETTER

Date: 8 October 2030

Parties: Harbour Financial Planning Limited and Michael Evans

## 1. Purpose and parties

Harbour Financial Planning Limited agrees to provide Michael Evans, of 18 Willow Lane, Chester CH2 4JP, with a one-off financial planning review. This letter records the engagement only; Michael remains responsible for deciding whether to act on any recommendation.

## 2. Facts, scope and terms

The agreed scope is a review of pension consolidation, ISA contributions and protection needs using information Michael supplies. It excludes tax advice, legal advice, mortgage broking, discretionary investment management and a recommendation about a product outside the agreed fact-find. A referral will be made where specialist advice is needed.

## 3. Process and responsibilities

Harbour will charge a fixed planning fee of £950 plus VAT, payable £475 on instruction and £475 when the written report is delivered. Any separately agreed implementation fee will be quoted before work starts. No commission or contingent fee will be assumed in this example.

## 4. Evidence, records and safeguards

Harbour will explain its regulatory status and permissions in its current disclosures; this letter does not invent or guarantee authorisation. Michael is treated as a retail client unless a lawful written re-categorisation is agreed. Recommendations will identify assumptions, risks, charges, liquidity limits and tax caveats.

## 5. Review, escalation and outcome

Michael will provide accurate statements, pension information and identity documents, promptly correct changes and tell Harbour about vulnerability or accessibility needs. Harbour will keep a suitability file, conflicts record and communications, and will not share data except for the engagement, law or an agreed provider instruction.

## 6. Reservations and practical protections

Michael may complain to Harbour's Compliance Officer at complaints@harbourfp.example. Harbour will investigate under its complaints procedure and give a final response within the applicable FCA DISP period; eligible unresolved complaints may be referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service within its time limits.

## 7. England and Wales law and completion

England and Wales law applies. Either party may end the engagement by written notice, with payment due for work properly completed. Post, hand delivery and email are separate permitted notice methods, with receipt under the stated method. Aisha Khan, Director, and Michael sign on 8 October 2030.
