# GARDEN LEAVE LETTER

Parties: Cedarline Media Limited and Thomas Wright
## 1. Purpose and parties
Cedarline Media Limited accepts Thomas Wright's resignation as Commercial Director, with contractual notice running to 31 January 2032. Clause 12 expressly permits garden leave, so this letter directs him not to attend work from 12 August while remaining employed and available.
## 2. Facts, scope and terms
During garden leave Thomas must not work for another organisation, contact clients or staff about business, access systems without permission or make public statements for Cedarline. He remains bound by confidentiality, intellectual-property and lawful contractual duties and must answer reasonable handover questions.
## 3. Process and responsibilities
Base salary, contractual benefits and pension contributions continue through notice, subject to normal deductions. Annual leave accrues and Cedarline may require statutory notice for him to take it. Any discretionary bonus remains subject to the plan; this letter is not a promise of bonus or payment in lieu.
## 4. Evidence, records and safeguards
Thomas must return his laptop, pass, phone and documents by 12 August and provide a secure handover of campaigns and client contacts. Cedarline will preserve access logs proportionately, limit monitoring to legitimate purposes and handle personal data under its privacy notice.
## 5. Review, escalation and outcome
He may be asked to attend a meeting or perform a specific task with reasonable notice. Cedarline may lift the direction in writing, make a lawful payment in lieu if the contract permits, or enforce post-termination covenants only to the extent legally enforceable.
## 6. Reservations and practical protections
Garden leave is not a disciplinary finding and Thomas may obtain advice. He must not be prevented from earning after termination more than the contract and law permit; either party may raise a grievance or challenge an unlawful instruction.
## 7. England and Wales law and completion
England and Wales law governs Thomas's employment contract. This letter is sent by hand, post and email as separate permitted methods on 8 August 2031; HR records receipt and Thomas may acknowledge receipt without admitting breach.
