# INSURANCE CLAIM DISPUTE LETTER

Date: 26 September 2029

Parties: Marcus Bell and Redhaven Insurance plc

## 1. People, purpose and legal route

To Redhaven Insurance plc, Claims Department, 15 King William Street, London EC4N 7BP: I, Marcus Bell of 8 Hazel Road, Canterbury CT2 8QJ, dispute your 9 September 2029 decision on home claim RH-29041 under policy RH-HOME-88421. The insured escape-of-water damage occurred on 18 August 2029.

## 2. Facts, scope and supporting evidence

Your letter accepts £8,600 for repairs but declines £3,950 for drying, damaged fitted cupboards and alternative accommodation, saying the loss is wear and tear. I disagree: the plumber's report identifies a sudden failure of the concealed pipe, and the adjuster's photographs show the affected items were sound before the incident.

## 3. Requests, duties and safeguards

Please provide the full policy wording, endorsements, adjuster's report, engineer evidence, valuation calculation and the precise exclusion relied on. Explain how you applied the excess, under-insurance or settlement basis and why reasonable mitigation costs were rejected. I attach invoices, photographs, the plumber report and two replacement quotations.

## 4. Records, review and communication

I ask Redhaven to reconsider within eight weeks under its complaints procedure, appoint a different reviewer and pay the undisputed £8,600 without prejudice to the balance. I have mitigated loss by drying the property, preserving damaged items and allowing inspection; I do not accept a cash settlement that requires a release of the disputed claim.

## 5. Time limits, escalation and outcome

Please treat this as a formal complaint and give a final response. If unresolved, I may refer it to the Financial Ombudsman Service within the applicable six-month period after the final response. I understand policy and statutory limitation periods can differ, and referral does not automatically extend every court deadline.

## 6. Reservations and practical protections

No admission is made about causation or quantum beyond the documents supplied. I reserve contractual, statutory and common-law rights, including interest and reasonable costs where recoverable. Please avoid sharing my household data except as needed for claims handling and UK GDPR compliance.

## 7. England and Wales law and signature

Please acknowledge by email and post. Either method, or hand delivery, is permitted service; email to marcus.bell@example.co.uk is not merely a copy. England and Wales law and the policy dispute clause apply. Yours faithfully, Marcus Bell.
