# SAMPLE COMPLAINT LETTER TO LANDLORD
Date: 6 May 2029
Parties: Aisha Rahman and Harbour Homes Limited
## 1. Status of this document
Aisha Rahman writes about Flat 6, 22 Meadow Lane, Bristol BS7 0QJ, where she has reported damp around the bedroom window and a failed extractor fan since 12 February 2029. The complaint is made under Harbour's published complaints process.
## 2. Parties and subject
A contractor attended on 20 February but did not complete the repair. Mould returned on 18 April and Aisha's child's bedroom cannot presently be used comfortably. She has attached photographs, dates and copies of reports.
## 3. Facts and request
Aisha requests a qualified inspection within seven days, safe temporary ventilation, repair of the fan and investigation of the underlying ingress. The landlord should consider vulnerability, health evidence and any reasonable adjustment.
## 4. Checks and evidence
She has continued paying rent and has not authorised withholding or self-funded structural work. Harbour should explain any proposed access date, contractor, risk assessment and method for keeping the household safe.
## 5. Procedure and deadline
Please provide a stage-one response within ten working days, identify the complaint officer and state whether compensation or reimbursement will be considered. Aisha will allow access on reasonable notice.
## 6. Rights and remedies
If unresolved, she may use the landlord's escalation stage, the relevant housing ombudsman route or seek independent housing advice. Nothing in the complaint waives statutory fitness, disrepair or equality rights.
## 7. Records and signature
The letter is sent by post and email as separate permitted methods on 6 May 2029. Aisha asks Harbour to keep a complete repair log and communicate in accessible written English.
