# NANNY EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT
Date: 12 August 2029
Parties: Oliver and Priya Shah and Amelia Rose Carter
## 1. Parties and purpose
Oliver and Priya Shah of 24 Larch Avenue, Guildford GU1 2QN employ Amelia Rose Carter as a live-out nanny from 2 September 2029. Amelia's normal place of work is the Shah family home and local school routes. The employment is permanent part-time and does not make Amelia self-employed or an agency worker.
## 2. Scope, price and subject
Amelia works Monday to Thursday 07:30–18:00, with a 45-minute unpaid break, for 41 hours weekly during school term and agreed holiday cover. Gross pay is £34,320 a year paid monthly by BACS, subject to PAYE and National Insurance. The Shaws will enrol her in a workplace pension if the statutory criteria are met and provide a written itemised payslip.
## 3. Operating duties
Duties are school runs, age-appropriate meals, homework support, play, laundry for the children and agreed childcare outings for twins Rosa and Theo. Amelia must never leave a child unsupervised contrary to the risk plan, administer medicine only under written instructions, and keep emergency contacts current. The family provides a phone, first-aid training and mileage reimbursement at HMRC rates.
## 4. Compliance, records and controls
The Shaws will obtain and renew an Enhanced DBS check with Amelia's consent, verify her right to work, provide safeguarding induction and maintain a safe workplace. Amelia must follow the family's safeguarding and confidentiality rules, report a concern immediately and not use physical punishment. Nothing prevents a referral to children's services, police, Ofsted or another lawful authority.
## 5. Term, ending and remedies
Amelia receives 28 days' paid annual leave including bank holidays, pro-rated where necessary, and statutory maternity, family-leave and sickness rights. She self-certifies illness for seven days and supplies a fit note thereafter; Statutory Sick Pay applies if eligible. The parties will consult about reasonable adjustments and must not discriminate under the Equality Act 2010.
## 6. Liability and reservations
Amelia may not post identifiable photographs, school information or family addresses, and the Shaws process employment and safeguarding data under UK GDPR. Either side gives eight weeks' written notice after probation; the first three months have two weeks' notice, subject to statutory minimums. Serious misconduct, violence, theft or a safeguarding breach may justify summary dismissal after a fair process.
## 7. Governing law and signatures
On ending, final wages, accrued holiday and lawful expenses are paid, and Amelia returns keys, phone and records. England and Wales law governs, with Employment Tribunal jurisdiction for statutory claims and courts for other claims. Oliver, Priya and Amelia sign on 12 August 2029; the family will give her a written statement of employment particulars.
