# EXAMPLE: NOTICE TO QUIT INFORMATION COVER

Date: 2 November 2028

Parties: Moorfield Housing Association and Leon Watts

## 1. Important status

This is an illustrative completed information/cover example, not a substitute for a prescribed statutory form or a legal notice. Before use, check the current law (including any changed or abolished procedure), eligibility, dates, service, deposit and licensing requirements, and the correct jurisdiction. This is an illustrative information/cover example, not the notice itself. Whether a Notice to Quit is available depends on the tenancy, statutory protections and current possession regime; a court or regulator may require another prescribed notice or procedure.

## 2. Parties and property

Landlord: Moorfield Housing Association, 2 Station Approach, Sheffield S1 2AB. Tenant: Leon Watts. Property: 18 Park View, Sheffield S6 5TR. The file records a periodic contractual tenancy with a rent period from the 15th to the 14th.

## 3. Notice or proposal

The proposed information states an intended termination date of 14 February 2029, after four complete rent periods, subject to the law and tenancy terms. The rent is £760 per month and is up to date on 2 November 2028.

## 4. Checks

Moorfield will check whether the tenancy is protected by the Housing Act 1985, Housing Act 1988, homelessness duties, succession rules, licensing, a fixed-term restriction or any reform that has replaced this route. It will not rely on the label alone.

## 5. Service and procedure

The proposed service is hand delivery and first-class post on 2 November 2028 to the property and Leon's notified correspondence address. A signed certificate records method, date and recipient; the operative notice must be separately prepared and served in a lawful way.

## 6. Rights and remedies

This cover does not authorise lock-changing or eviction. Leon may seek advice, challenge the period or retaliatory motive, request an arrangement and ask about assistance; possession requires the correct court process if he does not leave.

## 7. Signature and records

Moorfield's housing officer Tessa Green signs the cover: Signature ____________________ Date 2 November 2028. The parties must verify current England and Wales law, prescribed forms, service rules and any transition provisions immediately before use.
