# PARENTING PLAN

Parties: Amelia Reed and Yusuf Reed, parents of Sam Reed
## 1. Purpose and parties
Amelia Reed and Yusuf Reed make this parenting plan for Sam Reed, aged eight, after separating amicably. They share parental responsibility and intend decisions to focus on Sam's welfare, routine, school and relationship with both parents, subject to any later court order.
## 2. Facts, scope and terms
Sam will stay with Amelia from Monday after school to Thursday morning and with Yusuf from Thursday after school to Monday school drop-off on alternate weeks, with one midweek video call. The parents will agree changes by message, give reasonable notice and collect Sam punctually from the agreed school or home location.
## 3. Process and responsibilities
Both parents may receive school and medical information and will consult on education, non-urgent treatment, travel abroad, religion and substantial activities. Each may make day-to-day decisions while Sam is in their care. The plan records consent to ordinary travel arrangements but is not a passport consent or immigration document.
## 4. Evidence, records and safeguards
They will use a shared calendar, notify illness promptly, provide medication and school equipment, and avoid discussing adult disputes with Sam. Communications will be factual and respectful through the agreed app. Neither parent will record Sam's calls secretly or ask him to carry messages about money or proceedings.
## 5. Review, escalation and outcome
For holidays, each parent will propose dates six weeks ahead; overseas travel requires itinerary, contact details and any required consent. If a safeguarding concern arises, the parent will act immediately and contact appropriate services. A dispute will first be discussed at a child-focused meeting or mediation where safe.
## 6. Reservations and practical protections
This plan is a voluntary record of agreement and is not automatically a Child Arrangements Order or other court order. Either parent may change consent, seek legal advice or apply to the Family Court; a court will decide according to Sam's welfare and the evidence then available. The plan does not remove safeguarding duties.
## 7. England and Wales law and completion
England and Wales family law applies. Amelia and Yusuf sign on 14 June 2031, exchange copies electronically and by post as separate permitted methods, and review the plan each school term or after a material change. Sam's views will be heard appropriately for his age and understanding without making him responsible for the decision.
