# PATERNITY LEAVE NOTICE

Date: 25 August 2031

Parties: Ethan Morgan and Southbank Data Cooperative

## 1. Purpose and parties

Ethan Morgan gives Southbank Data Cooperative notice of intended statutory paternity leave for his child, expected on 14 November 2031. He confirms he is the biological father and will have responsibility for the child's upbringing, subject to the employer checking the statutory declarations and eligibility evidence.

## 2. Facts, scope and terms

Ethan elects two consecutive weeks beginning on the date of birth, or on an agreed date within the statutory window if the child arrives early or late. He understands leave cannot begin before birth and that the current statutory notice and variation rules apply rather than treating this letter as an irrevocable date.

## 3. Process and responsibilities

He gives the notice by the applicable qualifying-week deadline and provides the expected week of childbirth, intended duration and start choice. If the date changes, he will notify Southbank as soon as reasonably practicable and comply with any separate notice required by the current regulations.

## 4. Evidence, records and safeguards

Southbank will check continuous service and average-earnings conditions for Statutory Paternity Pay and pay the statutory rate or 90% of average weekly earnings if lower, unless enhanced contractual pay applies. Payroll will make normal PAYE and National Insurance deductions.

## 5. Review, escalation and outcome

The employer records the notice securely and will agree reasonable contact during leave, keeping in touch without turning leave into work. Ethan may also explore Shared Parental Leave, but a separate curtailment and SPL notice is required and this notice does not reserve a guaranteed SPL entitlement.

## 6. Reservations and practical protections

Ethan can withdraw or vary the notice only within the statutory framework; Southbank will not penalise him for exercising a statutory family-leave right. A disagreement about eligibility or pay may be raised through HR and does not permit retaliation.

## 7. England and Wales law and completion

England and Wales employment law applies. Ethan signs on 25 August 2031 and sends this by hand and email as separate permitted methods, retaining proof of delivery; the employer will confirm the recorded dates in writing.
