# PERSONAL INJURY CLAIM LETTER
Date: 22 May 2029
Parties: Oliver Grant and Hartwell Retail Limited
## 1. Status of this document
I write regarding the accident at Hartwell Retail Limited's Bristol store, 77 Broad Street, on 3 February 2029. I was a lawful customer when I slipped on detergent that had leaked from an unmarked pallet in an aisle.
## 2. Parties and subject
A staff member recorded the incident, but the store had no warning sign or barrier. I suffered a fractured left wrist and bruising, attended Southmead Hospital the same day, and remained unable to use my dominant hand normally for six weeks.
## 3. Facts and request
I ask Hartwell to preserve CCTV, incident reports, cleaning logs, staff rotas, risk assessments and the pallet delivery record. Please identify the public-liability insurer and pass this letter to its claims handler.
## 4. Evidence and checks
My medical records show the fracture and physiotherapy. I will obtain an independent medical report addressing diagnosis, prognosis and any contribution from pre-existing symptoms. The current special damages are £1,180 treatment and travel costs plus £2,460 net lost self-employed earnings.
## 5. Procedure and deadline
Liability is alleged because the spill was foreseeable and remained in a customer aisle without reasonable inspection, containment or warning. I will provide a schedule of loss and receipts; the figures are provisional and do not include general damages pending medical evidence.
## 6. Rights and remedies
Please acknowledge within 14 days and provide a substantive response within the period contemplated by the Pre-Action Protocol for Personal Injury Claims. I am willing to consider rehabilitation and an early neutral discussion without waiving limitation.
## 7. Records and signature
This open letter is sent to encourage resolution and is not a Part 7 claim or admission of any contributory negligence. I reserve limitation, interest, costs and all remedies, and will take advice before accepting any settlement.
