REVOCATION OF POWER OF ATTORNEY

Important jurisdiction and formalities warning

This fictional worked example is not legal advice and is not a universally valid revocation. It is written for an ordinary power of attorney used in England and Wales. The original power, its terms, the donor's capacity, the nature of the transaction and the recipient's procedures must be checked before this document is signed. A lasting power of attorney has different statutory rules and is not revoked simply by copying this document; the Office of the Public Guardian and any required forms or notices may be involved. A court, bank, land registry, pension provider or other institution may require its own evidence. Obtain advice from a suitably qualified England and Wales adviser, use the required witnessing or deed formalities, and notify relevant third parties promptly.

1. Donor and attorney

I, Eleanor May Whitcombe, of 42 Alderbrook Road, Harrowgate, London HA3 7QJ, am the donor. On 14 March 2026, I appointed Daniel Robert Whitcombe, of 9 Orchard Mews, Harrowgate, London HA3 2LN, as my attorney under an ordinary power of attorney dated that day. The power was signed to help with the sale and administration of my small catering business while I recovered from surgery.

The power authorised Daniel to communicate with West Thames Bank plc, HM Revenue and Customs, suppliers and professional advisers; sign routine business correspondence; collect and pay invoices; and negotiate the sale of specified catering equipment. It did not authorise Daniel to make gifts, change my will, deal with my personal bank account, or sell my home at 42 Alderbrook Road. The original power is identified by its date and by the heading “Business Administration Power of Attorney”.

2. Revocation

I revoke the power of attorney dated 14 March 2026 in full, with effect from 2 October 2026 at 9:00 a.m. London time. From that time Daniel has no authority under that instrument to act for me, sign documents in my name, instruct a bank or adviser, receive money, dispose of property, or represent that he is my attorney.

I confirm that I make this revocation voluntarily and, to the best of my knowledge, while I understand the nature and effect of revoking the appointment. This revocation does not by itself cancel a contract, undo a transaction already validly completed, or remove an authority arising from another document or from law. It also does not determine whether any act carried out before the effective time was authorised or binding.

3. Accounts, documents and property

Daniel must stop using the authority at the effective time and must deliver to me, or to my nominated solicitor, every original power, copy, key, access token, cheque book, receipt, contract and business record held because of the appointment. He must provide a written account of money received or paid, instructions given, commitments made and documents signed between 14 March 2026 and the effective time.

Within five working days, Daniel must transfer any money held for me to the client account of Hollis, Fenwick and Rowe Solicitors, 18 Station Parade, Harrowgate, London HA3 5ER, unless that firm gives different written instructions. He must not destroy, alter, conceal or copy confidential records except where retention is required by law or by a professional adviser. This paragraph does not create a new fiduciary duty beyond those that may already arise, and the parties should obtain advice about any disputed account.

4. Notice to third parties

I authorise Hollis, Fenwick and Rowe Solicitors to provide a certified copy of this revocation to West Thames Bank plc, the business's accountant Priya Nandini Shah, the equipment purchaser Marlow Event Kitchens Ltd, and any other person who has received notice of the revoked power. Each recipient should update its records, stop accepting Daniel's instructions under that power after the effective time, and contact me or my solicitor before acting on a document that Daniel presents as an attorney.

I will take reasonable steps to notify persons who may foreseeably rely on the appointment. A third party should not treat this document as proof that every other authority, mandate or agency relationship has ended. It should verify identity and any required original, certified or registered evidence under its own procedures.

5. Governing law and execution

This revocation is intended to be governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory law governing a transaction, asset or recipient outside that jurisdiction. If any provision is ineffective, the remaining revocation is intended to operate to the fullest extent permitted by law.

I sign this document on 2 October 2026 at Harrowgate, London, intending it to take effect as stated above.

Donor: Eleanor May Whitcombe

Signature: ____________________ Date: 2 October 2026

Witness: Amelia Ruth Kersey, 6 Linton Close, Harrowgate, London HA3 6DW

Witness signature: ____________________ Date: 2 October 2026

The witness should be physically present if required, should verify the donor's identity and apparent willingness, and should complete any attestation, deed, notarisation, registration or other formality required for the original power or this revocation. Daniel should receive a dated copy, and the donor should retain proof of delivery and a copy of the revoked instrument.
