# PRODUCT RECALL NOTICE
Date: 4 October 2030
Parties: Ravenscroft Appliances Limited and its customers
## 1. Purpose and parties
Ravenscroft Appliances Limited issues this notice to customers who bought the EmberHeat EH-220 portable heater from 1 May to 30 September 2030. The notice concerns units bearing batch codes EH220-05 through EH220-09, sold online and through authorised retailers in England and Wales.
## 2. Facts, scope and terms
Testing found that a wiring fault can cause overheating at the rear terminal after extended use. There have been two reports of smoke and one minor scorch mark, with no reported injury. Customers must switch off, unplug and stop using an affected heater immediately, without attempting a repair.
## 3. Process and responsibilities
Customers should photograph the rating label, keep proof of purchase if available and submit the serial number through ravenscroft.example/recall or the retailer. Ravenscroft will arrange a free return or collection and offer a full refund or replacement of equivalent value; reasonable return costs will not be deducted.
## 4. Evidence, records and safeguards
Retailers must stop sale, quarantine stock, identify purchasers from their records and display this notice. Ravenscroft has notified the Office for Product Safety and Standards and will provide the risk assessment, corrective-action plan and incident information requested. Reporting does not replace customers' rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
## 5. Review, escalation and outcome
A dedicated recall team will acknowledge claims within five working days and keep a log of serial numbers, remedy choice and collection. Customers who need an accessible collection or cannot safely handle the heater may request assistance. Personal data will be used for recall administration and retained only as necessary.
## 6. Reservations and practical protections
Do not return the heater by ordinary post unless instructed; contact 0800 555 0147 for a safe collection. A refund does not prevent a customer from raising a separate injury or property-damage claim. This notice is precautionary and does not admit the cause of any particular loss.
## 7. England and Wales law and completion
England and Wales law applies. The notice is effective on 4 October 2030 and is served by email, retailer display and post as separate permitted methods. Laura Bennett, Product Safety Director, signs for Ravenscroft.
