# PROPERTY INSURANCE CLAIM LETTER

Date: 4 March 2039

Parties: Rhys Davies and Severn Mutual Insurance plc

## 1. Claim and insured property

Rhys Davies submits this claim to Severn Mutual Insurance plc under policy SM-44721 for 6 Celyn Road, Cardiff CF11 8PN. The loss date is 27 February 2039 and the claim reference supplied on notification is CM-2039-118.

## 2. Incident and chronology

High winds and heavy rain occurred on 27 February. Water entered through displaced roof tiles and stained the landing ceiling and rear bedroom. Rhys notified the insurer on 28 February, placed temporary sheeting, and has kept the damaged materials where safe to do so.

## 3. Policy basis and loss

Rhys asks Severn Mutual to assess the reported storm damage under the buildings cover, subject to the policy wording, exclusions, causation and excess. A roofer's estimate currently puts necessary works at £18,760; the figure is provisional and does not include any unassessed contents loss.

## 4. Requested action

Please appoint or confirm a loss adjuster, authorise reasonable emergency mitigation, and provide a coverage position within 14 days, by 18 March 2039. Rhys requests payment of covered sums less the applicable excess after validation and will permit a reasonable inspection.

## 5. Evidence and reservation

The enclosed pack contains photographs, the weather report, policy schedule, roofer's estimate, receipts for temporary sheeting and the notification record. Rhys will take reasonable steps to prevent further damage, retain invoices and reserve his rights without treating this initial estimate as a final quantification.
