# RIGHT TO REPAIR CLAIM
Date: 20 February 2038
Parties: Tom Evans and GreenWheel Bikes Ltd
## 1. Addressee and product history
To GreenWheel Bikes Ltd: Tom Evans purchased a GreenWheel Cargo 4 for £2,200 from you on 4 April 2036. The motor controller failed on 6 February 2038. I address this claim to the retailer that made the sale, rather than assuming that a manufacturer must repair every product indefinitely.
## 2. Chronology and proposed response
After the failure, GreenWheel offered only a £1,900 replacement bicycle and said the motor-controller part was unavailable. That proposal does not answer my request for a practical repair route, and I ask the retailer to review the product and its available supply information.
## 3. Basis and status of request
This is a non-statutory request for a paid repair assessment under the purchase and any available service arrangements. It does not assert that the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires GreenWheel to supply parts or a manual, does not rely on an Ecodesign duty for this bicycle and does not determine whether the fault existed at delivery.
## 4. Requested response and deadline
Within 14 days, please state whether a compatible motor-controller part can be sourced and whether GreenWheel or a suitably qualified repairer can inspect and quote for the work. If repair is not reasonably possible, explain why and identify any voluntary trade-in or replacement option without presenting it as the only legal remedy.
## 5. Evidence, costs and sign-off
I can provide the purchase receipt, diagnostic material, photographs and records of use. Please respond in writing to Tom Evans by 6 March 2038. I will consider a properly itemised inspection and repair charge, while preserving any separate consumer claim that may later be supported by evidence.
