# SECONDMENT EXTENSION LETTER

Date: 10 September 2032

Parties: Alder Software Ltd, Meridian Council and Sofia Ahmed

## 1. Purpose and parties

Alder Software Ltd and Meridian Council agree, with Sofia Ahmed's consent, to extend her secondment as Digital Service Lead from 30 September to 31 December 2032. Sofia remains employed and paid by Alder, which is her original employer; Meridian is the host. The original agreement was signed on 1 April 2032 for six months.

## 2. Facts, scope and terms

During the extension Sofia will continue working 37.5 hours a week at Meridian's Cardiff office, reporting day to day to Council Director Tom Ellis and remaining subject to Alder's employment contract and disciplinary authority. Her salary remains £54,000 per year, paid monthly by Alder. Meridian will reimburse Alder £4,850 per month, including the agreed employer-cost contribution.

## 3. Process and responsibilities

The extension is needed to complete the accessible-council-services release scheduled for 16 December. Sofia's objectives are to complete user testing by 14 October, deliver staff training by 30 November and hand over support documentation by 23 December. The project budget and objectives may be changed only by a written variation signed by all relevant parties.

## 4. Evidence, records and safeguards

Alder will continue payroll, pension, annual-leave and sickness administration, while Meridian supplies a safe workplace, induction, equipment and day-to-day supervision. Sofia must follow Meridian's information-security and safeguarding policies and Alder's employment policies; any conflict is to be raised with both HR teams. Neither company authorises an unlawful transfer of personal data or an unagreed change to her employment.

## 5. Review, escalation and outcome

Sofia's accrued holiday and continuous service are unaffected. She should request leave through Meridian's manager and Alder's leave system, and report sickness to both organisations under their procedures. The parties will meet on 30 November to review workload and on 12 December to plan return. Reasonable adjustments and health-and-safety concerns may be raised at any time.

## 6. Reservations and practical protections

On 31 December Sofia will return to Alder's Bristol office and her substantive role of Service Delivery Manager, subject to any lawful organisational change communicated separately. Meridian will return equipment, preserve necessary records and pay all agreed charges promptly. There is no promise of permanent employment by Meridian and no waiver of either employer's legal duties.

## 7. England and Wales law and completion

This completed fictional variation is dated 10 September 2032 and applies in England and Wales. Sofia should sign by 16 September to confirm informed consent; a signed copy will be held by each party. The extension does not create a partnership, transfer Sofia's employer or remove her rights under the Employment Rights Act 1996, health-and-safety law or data-protection law.
