# SUBSCRIPTION CANCELLATION LETTER

Date: 3 September 2031

Parties: Mia Patel and CloudNote Ltd

## 1. Purpose and parties

Mia Patel of 22 Market Street, Cambridge, holds CloudNote Ltd account CN-44018 for the Pro Monthly cloud-notes subscription, registered to mia.patel@cambridge.example. The subscription started on 18 November 2030 at £9.99 per month, charged to the card ending 6621. This letter cancels the subscription and requests written confirmation that the account will become read-only after the effective date rather than being deleted.

## 2. Facts, scope and terms

The current billing period began on 18 August 2031 and would ordinarily renew on 18 September 2031. Mia gives the required 14-day notice under clause 5.2, so cancellation is effective at 23:59 on 17 September 2031. CloudNote must not renew or charge the card after that time. Mia downloaded her notes on 2 September and asks CloudNote to retain account records only as required by law and its published privacy notice.

## 3. Process and responsibilities

CloudNote increased the monthly fee from £8.49 to £9.99 by an email dated 20 August 2031, giving 29 days' notice. Mia does not rely on the price increase alone, but records that she did not consent to a renewal at the increased price and is cancelling before the next charge. No annual minimum term, device lease or outstanding usage fee applies to account CN-44018.

## 4. Evidence, records and safeguards

Mia requests a final invoice showing the £9.99 charge on 18 August, the cancellation date and a zero balance for future periods. She asks CloudNote to disable automatic renewal, email confirmation to mia.patel@cambridge.example by 13 September 2031 and provide an export of files created before closure if the earlier download is incomplete. CloudNote must not treat a login solely to retrieve data as a renewed subscription.

## 5. Review, escalation and outcome

The records supporting this request are the original welcome email of 18 November 2030, the Pro Monthly terms accepted that day, the card statement showing £9.99 on 18 August 2031, the price-change email of 20 August and the account screen showing CN-44018. Mia will preserve those records and will not share another person's confidential notes during any verification.

## 6. Reservations and practical protections

Mia has paid for 18 August to 17 September and does not seek a refund for that period because access remains available until cancellation. If CloudNote nevertheless takes a renewal payment on 18 September, Mia requests immediate reversal of £9.99 and reserves a card chargeback after giving CloudNote a reasonable opportunity to correct it. Any proposed retention fee or cancellation charge is rejected because none appears in clause 5.2.

## 7. England and Wales law and completion

This completed fictional letter is dated 3 September 2031 and governed by the law of England and Wales. If confirmation is not received by 13 September, Mia will use CloudNote's formal complaints route and, where appropriate, an ADR or court remedy without waiving data-protection rights. The cancellation is a request to end future performance, not a waiver of a claim for a charge taken after 17 September 2031.
