# VEHICLE DAMAGE CLAIM LETTER

Date: 12 July 2032

Parties: Harriet Cole, Marcus Bell and Northbridge Insurance

## 1. Purpose and parties

Harriet Cole of 27 Larch Avenue, Worcester WR3 7PN claims against Marcus Bell, driver of a blue Ford Fiesta registration BX21 LNR, insured by Northbridge Insurance policy NB-441908. At 08:15 on 18 June 2032 at the junction of Larch Avenue and A38, Marcus turned right across Harriet's lane while Harriet was proceeding on a green light. The police incident reference is WOC/1834/32, and two independent witnesses provided contact details.

## 2. Facts, scope and terms

Harriet's 2019 Toyota Yaris, registration HF19 RTA, was struck on its left front corner. The bumper, left headlamp, wing and wheel-arch liner were damaged; photographs taken at 08:27 show the position and debris. Oakfield Motor Repairs inspected the car on 21 June and quoted £1,680 including VAT for parts, labour and calibration, with a nine-working-day repair period. The engineer did not identify a pre-existing defect.

## 3. Process and responsibilities

Harriet paid a £100 policy excess to her insurer on 24 June and hired a comparable small car for five necessary days from 20 to 24 June at £42 per day, totalling £210, because the Yaris was unsafe to drive. She claims the £1,680 repair cost, £100 excess, £210 reasonable hire cost and £160 for the independent engineer report. The total is £2,150, and she claims no speculative injury, inconvenience or diminution in value.

## 4. Evidence, records and safeguards

Harriet says Marcus's failure to give way caused the collision, but invites Northbridge to inspect the vehicle and provide its insured's account rather than treating liability as finally admitted. She requests confirmation within 14 days, by 26 July 2032, that liability is accepted or a full explanation of any disputed fact. She will make the vehicle available at Oakfield on two reasonable proposed dates and will mitigate further storage or hire expense.

## 5. Review, escalation and outcome

Enclosed are the incident photographs, Oakfield's itemised quotation, the engineer's report and invoice, the hire agreement and receipt, the excess receipt, witness contact details and the police reference. Harriet has not double-recovered the repair cost and will tell her own insurer about any payment. Northbridge may process necessary personal data for the claim, but Harriet asks it not to circulate unrelated medical or financial information.

## 6. Reservations and practical protections

If liability is admitted, Harriet requests payment of £2,150 within 28 days after admission, or a written proposal identifying any undisputed interim sum. If liability is denied or no substantive response arrives by 26 July, she will consider the appropriate pre-action process and, after allowing proportionate further correspondence, issue a County Court claim within the limitation period. She will consider mediation and will preserve the damaged parts and evidence until inspection is no longer reasonably required.

## 7. England and Wales law and completion

This completed fictional letter is dated 12 July 2032 and is governed by England and Wales law. It is a claim for property and consequential loss, not a criminal allegation or an admission about personal injury. Harriet requests correspondence through her at the stated address, keeps proof of delivery, and reserves the right to amend the schedule if a reasonable, evidenced loss is discovered without claiming twice.
