# VEHICLE REPAIR AUTHORISATION
Date: 12 August 2029
Parties: Moorland Motors Limited and Grace Wilson
## 1. Parties and purpose
Moorland Motors Limited (Company No. 06743190), 88 Station Road, Harrogate HG1 1TE (Garage), accepts Grace Wilson's 2021 Ford Focus, registration YK21 MPN, VIN ending 8821, mileage 41,208, for diagnosis and repair. Grace lives at 5 Beech Walk, Ripon HG4 2PL.
## 2. Scope, price and subject
The reported symptoms are intermittent loss of power and an engine warning light. Grace authorises inspection up to £120 including VAT. No repair or replacement part over £350 including VAT may be fitted without Grace's separate written, text-message or email approval; the total approved repair cap is £1,200.
## 3. Operating duties
Moorland will provide an itemised estimate stating labour hours, hourly rate, parts, VAT and expected completion date. It may use new manufacturer parts or equivalent quality parts only with Grace's recorded choice. Removed parts will be retained for seven days for inspection and then recycled unless Grace asks for their return.
## 4. Rights, records and compliance
The Garage will take reasonable care, keep the vehicle secure, carry out road tests only when necessary and tell Grace promptly of safety-critical defects. The repair warranty is 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first, excluding unrelated faults, fair wear and misuse. Moorland is not authorised to sell, export or use the vehicle privately.
## 5. Term, ending and remedies
Grace will pay the agreed invoice on collection by card or BACS. If she does not collect within five Business Days after notice, reasonable storage of £10 per day including VAT is payable. Moorland may exercise any lawful garage lien for unpaid sums, but must give an itemised final invoice and cannot charge unapproved repair work.
## 6. Liability and reservations
Either party may cancel before repair begins; Grace pays the diagnosis and work already authorised, and Moorland refunds any unspent deposit. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires services to be performed with reasonable care and skill and goods to be satisfactory where applicable; those rights are not excluded.
## 7. Governing law and signatures
This authorisation is governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Grace and Moorland's service manager Lewis Grant sign on 12 August 2029, recording the mileage, keys supplied and approval limit. An emergency safety repair still requires Grace's approval unless the law imposes a different duty.
