# Cease and Desist — Confidential Customer Information

## 1. Agreement and information concerned
Dear Mr Blake, your consultancy ended on 30 September 2026. Clause 8 of the consultancy agreement dated 6 April 2026 requires confidential customer information to be used only for our work and returned or securely deleted on termination, subject to lawful retention. The information at issue is the restricted file Renewal Pipeline August 2026, containing non-public renewal dates, negotiated prices and account contacts. This letter does not claim ownership of your general skills, public contact details or every customer relationship.
## 2. Evidence and opportunity to explain
Our access log records a download to your project account on 28 September. Two customers then forwarded offers sent from your new business on 6 October that quoted their unpublished renewal dates and prices. Redacted copies are enclosed. Those facts cause concern but do not establish every allegation conclusively. Please explain the source of that information and identify any permission or other lawful basis on which you rely.
## 3. Limited steps requested
Please stop using or disclosing that confidential file and any copies for your own marketing, restrict access and confirm by 19 October that relevant recipients have been identified. By 26 October please provide a written account of copies, locations and disclosures and propose secure return or deletion. Do not contact customers using the disputed information meanwhile. We are not demanding a general ban on lawful competition or asking you to admit wrongdoing before taking advice.
## 4. Preservation, lawful retention and resolution
Preserve relevant emails, access logs and disputed material as evidence pending an agreed preservation and disposal protocol; do not destroy evidence in response to the deletion request. A necessary legal or insurance copy may be retained securely, with restricted access and no commercial use, subject to applicable obligations. Please propose a practical written assurance or a discussion through advisers. We will consider a reasoned explanation and proportionate resolution.
## 5. Rights, response and signature
Please reply to the registered-office address above or legal@alderstudio.example.com. If unresolved, we may seek legal advice about contractual and confidentiality remedies, including whether interim relief is justified. No injunction, damages or costs award is automatic; we do not threaten criminal proceedings or assert an unassessed sum. This is open correspondence and not a court order.
