# Subject Access Request — Incomplete Response Complaint

Date: 12 October 2026

Parties and reference: From: Chloe Mason, 16 Rowan Close, Reading RG6 3PX. To: Data Protection Officer, Cedar Home Cover Ltd. SAR reference EXAMPLE-SAR-0901; claim EXAMPLE-HC-284.

## 1. Request and response history

Dear Data Protection Officer, I complain about the completeness of your 28 September 2026 response to my subject access request received on 1 September 2026. My identity was verified on that date; you did not request clarification or notify an extension. I requested my personal data concerning the August water-damage claim, including claim-call records, decision notes and relevant correspondence. Your response contained the claim form and two emails only.

## 2. Specific omissions and searches

My itemised telephone bill identifies calls on 6 August at 10:14 and 19 August at 15:42, and your 24 August email refers to an internal claim review. Please check the relevant call-recording, claim-management and correspondence systems for my personal data. Explain what reasonable and proportionate searches were made, whether recordings still exist and whether any relevant data was deleted under a retention policy. I do not require you to recreate data you no longer hold.

## 3. Scope, redactions and explanations

I seek access under the UK GDPR to my personal data and the required supplementary information, not every unredacted business document. Where information is withheld, please explain the applicable exemption or restriction and provide the remaining disclosable data. Third-party information may need protection, but please consider redaction or extracts instead of withholding a whole record without explanation. Please also supply the purposes, recipient information and retention information required for this request.

## 4. Correction and complaint response requested

Please acknowledge this complaint and respond fully within one calendar month, by 12 November 2026, or explain promptly why that is not possible and when you will respond. This requested complaint-response period does not restart or waive the original SAR deadline or any continuing obligation. Supply missing data securely and preserve records relevant to this complaint. I enclose the original request, identity-check confirmation, response, call list and 24 August email.

## 5. Further steps and contact

If unresolved, I may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office and consider available legal remedies. I understand that the ICO does not award compensation and that a data-protection compensation claim requires its own legal basis and evidence. Please reply through the secure claim portal or to the postal address above, quoting the SAR reference. Yours faithfully, Chloe Mason, signed 12 October 2026.
